What Does Workers’ Compensation, Coverage B Mean?
Workers’ compensation coverage B, the second part of workers’ compensation insurance, covers employer liability in case of injury to an employee due to employer negligence. It pays for damages that exceed part A, which covers lost wages, medical bills, and other related expenses.
It is also known as employers’ liability coverage.

Coverage B covers bodily injury by accident and by disease up to certain limits. It comes into play when the injured employee or their family files a claim beyond the amount provided by coverage A. Depending on the state the business operates in, an employer may need to purchase it as an endorsement to their workers’ compensation policy from their general liability provider.
