Major movie studios often have very conspicuous product rollouts. In fact, the release of a movie is often accompanied with a marketing campaign whose costs can equal or surpass the budget for the production. These rollouts typically involve trailers and other promotional materials aired over various forms of media.

A rollout can also be less showy. Sometimes, the product is introduced to a select few people who will be given an opportunity to test and review it. These initial reactions to the product will give the company a chance to improve it before mass producing it.
